According to the University Grants Commission (UGC) statistics, less than 20% of those who gain adequate Advanced Level results for university entrance manage to secure a place in a state university, leaving a major supply-demand gap for approximately 250,000 students per year looking for alternate options. Apart from this staggering number approximately a further 12,000 students sit for London A/Ls (Cambridge and Edexcel) which do not entitle them to apply or enter the national university system.

If you are applying for an undergraduate degree you will need to show proof that you have completed your secondary education (A/Levels etc) to a standard that is in line with the required grades for the program you’re applying to. If you have an international qualification and are unsure whether this is accepted, you may contact us so that we can get back to you in conculation with the respective university we are affiliated with. All Sri Lankans will also have to take up TOEFL or IELTS to provide proof of your English-language proficiency.
